ABOUT
Cassie Scott is a photographer known for her unique and imaginative artist portraits and fashion editorials. Approaching photography as a painter would, she creates images inspired by film, music and an imagined past with a fantastic or surreal spin. She’s worked and collaborated with an array of local and major fashion labels, boutiques, and artists including Nike, Converse, Teen Vogue, Vogue Italia, Samantha Pleet and Eskell.
Born and raised in Kentucky, Cassie grew up with an artistic family in the countryside just outside of Louisville. From an early age she was drawing, designing and constructing ideas from her imagination, if it didn’t exist she made it. Inspired by the abundant art books in her family’s collection and the creative editorials in her fashion magazines, her interest turned to photography. Relocating to Chicago, she graduated from Columbia College Chicago with a BFA in 2012 with a focus in fashion photography.
Cassie has a deep appreciation for the creative process and loves to celebrate artists that she finds distinctive and inspiring. Whether she’s shooting an album cover for a band, or photographing a designers latest collection she is mindful to see the beauty in all things and let that reflect in her work. She especially enjoys working with artists, brands and businesses that share her vision.
As a versatile creative, Cassie can be both a one woman show, able to handle all aspects of a creative process, or act as a valuable member of a collaborative team. Her adaptability gives her a singular insight into the creative process and a deep understanding of many creative disciplines including photography, art direction, styling, creative management and even modeling.
When she’s not shooting, Cassie can be found painting with watercolors, shopping for vintage, sitting in a movie theater or enjoying live music. She currently resides in Chicago, IL.
