ABOUT

Cassie Scott is a photographer known for her distinctive, imaginative portraits and fashion editorials. Creating images inspired by film, music and history often with a fantastic or surreal spin. She grounds this approach by embracing the magic of the real world with an emphasis on in-camera techniques and natural post-processing. Through this, Cassie captures her subjects both as they are and as she envisions them to be.

Born and raised in Kentucky, Cassie grew up with an artistic family in the countryside just outside of Louisville. From an early age she was drawing, designing and constructing ideas from her imagination, if it didn’t exist she made it. Inspired by the abundant art books in her family’s collection and the creative editorials in her fashion magazines, her interest turned to photography. Relocating to Chicago, she graduated from Columbia College Chicago with a BFA in 2012 with a focus in fashion photography. 

Cassie has a deep appreciation for the creative process and loves to celebrate artists that she finds distinctive and inspiring. Whether she’s shooting an album cover for a band, or photographing a designers latest collection she is mindful to see the beauty in all things and let that reflect in her work. She especially enjoys working with artists, brands and businesses that share her vision. 

When she’s not shooting, Cassie can be found painting with watercolors, shopping for vintage, sitting in a movie theater or enjoying live music. She currently resides in Chicago, IL.
